There are entire philosophical systems of thought that believe that God’s desire is to give his sentient creatures everything they want. But there is one fundamental problem with this conception of God- that it actually makes God to be a BAD FATHER.

Reason being that when parents give their children everything they want, they are teaching them to be dysfunctional. It is common knowledge that when parents give children everything they desire, that they will most likely turn into selfish people…

So, if we are going to claim that our incarnation as humans is the result of our desire to enjoy sense gratification, then we must logically conclude that our struggles with self-destructive behaviors (sin) are ultimately God’s fault.

Also, the fact that we do not receive everything that we pray for, proves that God does not want to give us “everything” we desire. Praise God that He is a Father who knows what are needs are and who supplies for them accordingly.

God the Father is the perfect parent- as such, He can only give us what is GOOD for us- which means that He cannot give us everything that we want.
