Screen Shot 2016-02-01 at 10.08.58 AM1 Corinthians 1:18 (ESV) For the message of the Cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

You did the “Bucket Challenge.” You did the “Cinnamon Challenge.” You did the “Plank Challenge.” It was all very fun… But what did we accomplish besides a few laughs?

Lord Jesus says in Matthew 10:27 (NIV)-

What I tell you in the dark, speak in the daylight; what is whispered in your ear, proclaim from the roofs.

The Christian Church exists in an age where it is persecuted from all fronts. Secular society arduously seeks to stifle Biblical morality through social media, politics and activism. Fundamentalists from all religions (especially ISLAM) is consistent in its efforts to destroy the Cross. (see HADITHS) Liberal and Atheistic theologians who do not believe in the Resurrection of Christ- yet they remain in their posts as tenured Seminary Professors.

Lets put a stop to this!!

For almost two millennia, it has been customary for Christians to wear Ashes at the beginning of the Season of Lent- on Ash Wednesday. The wearing of Ashes on the forehead is based on the sign of God’s ownership over all the baptized into Christ- this is also known as “the seal of the Spirit.” (Ephesians. 1:13; Ezekiel 3:4; Revelation 7:3; 9:4; 20:4)

Jesus warns his earliest disciples to not practice their acts of devotion in the public square to be seen by men (Matthew 6:5-8), but He also instructs us to proclaim the Gospel from the roof tops (Matthew 10:27) and to shine our light to the whole world. (Matthew 5:16)

Will you join us in proclaiming that JESUS IS LORD by wearing a Cross on your forehead, as a sign of solidarity with the global Persecuted Church?

When does this begin?- We begin on Ash Wednesday- February 10.

Do I have to wear ashes for 40 days?- NO! We recommend that after the Ash Wednesday service, to use Crayon Lip Stick (or other makeup wax) in either white or black.

Who can do this?– Any sincere disciple of Lord Jesus Christ who is truly concerned about our divisions as a body of believers- REGARDLESS OF DENOMINATION.

What else can I do?- You can “Like” the Challenge Facebook Page, let your church and friends know…Make videos and post them on Youtube, etc.

When does the Challenge end?- The Sign of the Cross challenge will officially end on EASTER MORNING… but if you want to wear the Sign of the Cross from then on as a form of proclamation to the world that JESUS IS LORD… go ahead!
